How to offer complete Salah?

First make sure that you have completed all the conditions which are necessary before starting Salah then follow the given steps:

  • Do intention; if you are Imam do it like this:

“I do intention to lead for example four Rak’ah Farz of Zohar Salah for those who are present and for those who may join us late and my face is towards Qibla”

If you are alone then: I do intention to offer four Rakah of Farz of the Salah of the Zuhr[1] facing toward the Qiblah.

  • Then say Allaho Akbar by raising both hands till the ears and put them on or under his belly button.
  • Then read Sana,

  • Tawwuz

  • Tasmia

  • Recite surah Fatiha

  • Any other surah or three small Aayah.[3]

  • By saying Allaho Akbar, bow down at knees (do Ruku) read “Subhan Rabbial Azeem (سبحان ربی العظیم)” 3 times or 5 times or 7 times.
  • Then stand straight by saying “Samiallaho Liman Hamida”

While standing straight, say “Rabbana Lakal Hamd

  • Imam and the person offering Salah alone (Munfadir), will say both “Samiallaho Liman Hamida” and “Rabbana Lakal Hamd”

  • Followers will say “Rabbana Lakal Hamd” when Imam completes Samia Allahu Liman Hamidah.

  • Then go to Sajda by saying “Allaho Akbar” and read “Subhan Rabbial A’la” 3 times or 5 times or 7 times.

  • Then raise yourself from Sajda by saying “Allaho Akbar” and sit and then do another Sajda and read same Duwa in same number again.

Here your first Rak’ah is completed.

  • After doing second Sajda, go to standing posture by saying “Allaho Akbar”.
  • Then read Tasmia, surah Fatiha, another surah and do Ruku and both Sajda in the same way as it is done in first Rak’ah.
  • After completing second Rak’ah, sit in first Qaida and read Tashahhud

And after it, go to standing posture for third Rak’ah.

  • Again, read Tasmia and surah Al-Fatiha only (As it is Farz Salah and in the Farz, another surah is added only in first two Rak’ah).
  • Then do Ruku, both Sajda, and again go to standing posture for fourth Rak’ah
  • Complete fourth Rak’ah as Third was done and sit in the last Qaida.
  • In last Qaida, read Tashahhud, (already mentioned above.)
  • And Salawat

  • And Duwa-al-Masora.

  • And finally, say Salam both sides, first right side and then left side.

  • Now four Rak’ah of the Salah is completed.
  • If the Salah has three Rak’ah, complete it after the third with Tashahhud, salawat and Duwa-al-Masora.
  • If it is of two Rakaah, complete it with salawat and Duwa-al-Masora after Tashahhud.

Note: Please memorize Duwa like Tashahhud, Durud and Duwa-e-Masora and other Duwa of Salah.[4]
